OUR PARTNERS
Bridging Admissions is a medical school application service geared towards supporting underrepresented minorities and first generation college students applying to medical school. The goal of this organization is to provide free mentorship during the medical school application process and also a centralized source of information to increase the representation of future physicians who are committed to providing healthcare to currently underserved communities. Our mentorship program connects applicants to volunteer medical students from across the nation. These mentors, depending on their availability, will be able to provide feedback on personal statements, secondary application, and interview preparation guidance.

Alliance in Mentorship, a 501c3, was founded in 2012, and creators of MiMentor with the vision to ensure all aspiring students have a mentor to guide them through the many obstacles we face in obtaining a health professions degree. Our mentors and mentees are predominantly first-generation, low-income and non-traditional students who are committed to advancing health equity. Mentees and mentors alike continue to embody unity, innovative ideas, advocacy, and the tenacity to fight for social justice and health inequities. Through virtual programming focused on a variety of health professions topics, our mentors and mentees share advice and resources to ensure we are all successful. One of our founders, Dr. Efrain Talamantes, Chief Operating Officer at AltaMed Health Services, shares that “MiMentor allowed us to demonstrate to each other that we are capable of mentoring a greater number of Underrepresented in Medicine (UiM) students to alleviate health professions shortages in underserved areas.”
